VISION & MISSION

VISION
Preparing and inspiring generations of learners to meet the challenges of a global society through innovation, critical thinking and community collaboration.
MISSION
The Lowcountry STEM Collaborative effectively engages the community to advance STEM awareness, interest and literacy, thereby establishing our region as a leader in STEM education and bolstering our STEM workforce.

Priority 1:  Effectively engage the community to advance STEM awareness, interest and literacy in the Lowcountry.
  • Goal 1A– Establish a business plan for the Collaborative
  • Goal 1B - Identify and implement innovative approaches for connecting, leveraging, and increasing collaboration among the region’s STEM stakeholders.
  • Goal 1C– Leverage our region’s resources by aligning key community, workforce, and economic development initiatives.
  • Goal 1D – Encourage partnerships among stakeholders to diversify pathways to STEM careers.
Priority 2:  Bolster the Lowcountry’s STEM workforce.
  • Goal 2A - Elevate the visibility and understanding of STEM in the Lowcountry and how it supports our economic needs.
  • Goal 2B – Grow STEM philanthropy by providing consistent and open communications through partnerships.
  • Goal 2C- Align The Collaborative’s priorities to be consistent with community foci while remaining strategically linked to key regional and national experts.
Priority 3:  Establish our region as a leader in STEM education.
  • Goal 3A - Strengthen the quality of P-20 STEM education by promoting and establishing research based teaching practices and interventions.
Goal 3B – Prepare and inspire all students to pursue STEM-related topics though learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom.
